Following the Health Ministry’s recent decision to delay the new National Exit Test (NExT) until further notice, AIIMS Delhi has announced the cancellation of the associated mock exam initially scheduled for July 28th, 2023. This announcement was made in accordance with the communication received from the National Medical Commission (NMC) and a directive from competent authority.
In light of the completed registration process, AIIMS Delhi has initiated the refund process for the registered candidates. The official notification confirmed that the registration fees paid by the candidates would be returned to the respective accounts from which the payments were originally made, though the timeline for this process has not been specified.
Currently, no rescheduled dates have been announced for the mock NExT exam. Earlier this month, the health minister stated that the upcoming batch of MBBS graduates would fall under the purview of this new examination. However, if the exam is not conducted this year, it will need to be officially announced in the government gazette, considering the National Medical Commission Act of 2020 mandates the exam to be conducted within three years of its enforcement. This deadline has been extended to 2024 via a gazette notification.
