During the academic year 2022-23, the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, received an impressive total of 1534 job offers from 330 companies during the placement drive. Over 95% of the placed students were from the flagship BTech program, as stated by NIT in their official statement.
Certain disciplines, namely Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, and dual degree in Mining Engineering and Ceramic Engineering, achieved 100% placement of registered students.
Notably, 24 students secured packages exceeding Rs 50 lakh per annum, with eight students receiving the highest package of Rs 52.89 lakh per annum. The average overall CTC (Cost to Company) improved to Rs 12.95 lakh per annum from the previous year’s Rs 11.15 lakh per annum. The average CTC for BTech students this year stands at Rs 14.22 lakh per annum.
Among specific disciplines, Computer Science Engineering recorded an impressive average CTC of Rs 21.87 lakh per annum, while Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering stood at Rs 18.12 lakh per annum. Electronics and Communication and Electrical Engineering reported average CTCs of Rs 17.97 lakh per annum and Rs 14.55 lakh per annum, respectively.
