An Instagram influencer hailing from Dasuya in Hoshiarpur has found herself in a predicament after shooting a video while seated on the bonnet of a moving SUV traveling on the Jalandhar-Jammu national highway.
The social media personality, Gauri Virdi, was commemorating the achievement of reaching 1 million followers on Instagram by holding golden-colored ‘1’ and ‘M’ air balloons.
While creating an Instagram reel, Gauri Virdi began dancing and waving the golden balloons while positioned on the moving SUV’s bonnet, in violation of traffic regulations. The reel gained significant traction after being shared on various social media platforms.
Promptly, the Dasuya police took action and tracked down the vehicle using its registration number. “The owner of the Thar is from Usman Shahid village in Dasuya. We immediately took custody of the vehicle and brought it to the Dasuya police station. The vehicle has been seized,” stated Dasuya SHO Balwinder Singh.

He informed that a traffic violation ticket has been issued, encompassing multiple violations of the Motor Vehicle Act, including reckless driving. Further legal measures will be undertaken following a comprehensive investigation.
Gauri Virdi, the young woman seen in the video, resides in Dasuya and primarily lives in Chandigarh, according to Singh. As of now, no First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged in relation to the incident.
In the meantime, the video has been removed from Instagram. However, Gauri’s photograph, where she is seated on the bonnet of a parked vehicle with balloons on the windshield, as well as another video in which she is seen sitting on the bonnet of a stationary vehicle, remain accessible on her Instagram account.
