Noida police stated on Tuesday that Seema Ghulam Haider, the Pakistani woman who entered India with her four children to reunite with her partner, was apprehended while attempting to flee to Delhi. Seema had entered India through Nepal and was arrested for illegal entry without a visa. The Anti-Terror Squad of the Uttar Pradesh Police interrogated her on Monday.
According to the filed First Information Report (FIR) by the Noida police, Seema revealed that she was unable to obtain an Indian visa, so she traveled to Nepal and then took a bus to New Delhi. From there, she and her children arrived at a rented house in Greater Noida’s Mohalla Ambedkar Nagar, accompanied by Sachin Meena, whom she had met in 2019 through the online game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).
Sachin, who was arrested for providing shelter to illegal immigrants, informed the police that he introduced Seema to his father and expressed his intention to marry her. Seema agreed to adapt to the Indian way of living as per Sachin’s father’s requirement for their marriage.
Later, Sachin returned to his hometown, and Netrapal, his father, visited Seema’s house a few days later. They went to a court in Bulandshahr to consult a lawyer about initiating the court marriage process. However, the lawyer informed Seema that she could not marry Sachin due to her non-Indian citizenship status.
Concerned that the lawyer might report her to the police, Seema left the rented house with her children on June 30, hoping to reach Delhi. However, they were arrested shortly thereafter. Seema was taken into custody on July 4 for illegally entering India without a visa, while Sachin was detained for harboring illegal immigrants. The police are also attempting to retrieve data from a damaged mobile phone seized from Sachin.
The investigation into the case continues, with authorities focusing on the circumstances of Seema’s entry into India, her relationship with Sachin, and potential legal consequences for both individuals involved.
