Q: How does Jharkhand differ from Tamil Nadu in your experience during your tours? Radhakrishnan: There are notable differences between Tamil Nadu, a well-developed state, and Jharkhand, which is still in the process of development. Unfortunately, despite the abundance of mineral resources in Jharkhand, there exists a significant disparity between the wealth and the living conditions of the underprivileged. It is essential to utilize this wealth to uplift the standard of living.
Q: Some people may view your tours as political, considering the Governor’s role is expected to be neutral. Radhakrishnan: I have completely distanced myself from politics ever since I assumed the role of Governor in Jharkhand. However, since the decisions made by political leaders directly impact the welfare of the people, I am assessing the progress of various development schemes to determine the extent of their benefits. I have observed that irrigation facilities in Jharkhand are comparatively inadequate. The healthcare sector is slowly improving, but housing remains an area that requires significant attention.
