During the weekly meeting of the BJP parliamentary party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the opposition, calling them “directionless” and mocking their alliance’s name, INDIA, which stands for Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad quoted the Prime Minister, saying he had never seen such a directionless opposition.
PM Modi specifically targeted the opposition’s use of the name INDIA, stating that just using the country’s name does not hold any significance. He pointed out various groups like Indian National Congress, East India Company, Indian Mujahideen, and Popular Front of India, which also have “INDIA” in their names.
The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that the BJP would easily win the 2024 elections with the support of the people. He described the opposition as “defeated, tired, and hopeless,” with a sole purpose of opposing him. The ongoing standoff in parliament over the Manipur crisis and disruptions due to demands for PM Modi’s statement on various issues have affected the passage of key legislation.
Despite the hurdles, PM Modi remained steadfast in his belief that the BJP would emerge victorious in the upcoming polls with the backing of the people. The monsoon session of parliament has been frequently adjourned since the Manipur horror video surfaced, delaying important legislative work.
