Aryna Sabalenka, ranked second in the world, displayed her dominance at Wimbledon by defeating Madison Keys 6-2 6-4 in the quarter-finals. With her tiger tattoo on display, the Belarusian stormed to victory on Court One. She now awaits the winner of the match between Ons Jabeur and defending champion Elena Rybakina in the semi-finals. Sabalenka, seeded second, made an early breakthrough by breaking Keys’ serve in the first game of the match. The decisive point came as she executed a sublime backhand that cleared the net and evaded Keys’ reach.
Once again, she shattered the 28-year-old American, leaving her no room to contemplate and delivering each powerful shot with a synchronized roar.
Sabalenka successfully closed out the set in just 38 minutes, appearing to be the frontrunner to secure her second semi-final berth at the All England Club, having previously accomplished this feat in 2021.
Nonetheless, Keys, who was vying for her first-ever Wimbledon semi-final, emerged in the second set with more determination and resolve. After holding her serve at 3-2 with a backhand winner, the American clenched her fist and exclaimed “come on” as she sought to even the score.
