In the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table, the Indian cricket team missed the opportunity to secure full points from the two-match Test series against West Indies as the second game ended in a draw due to a complete washout on Monday. Consequently, India earned 16 points out of the possible 24, resulting in a PCT (percentage of points won) of 66.67 percent, placing them second in the standings. Pakistan currently leads the table with a 100 percent PCT after winning their first Test against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, West Indies ranks fifth in the points table with 4 points for the draw, leading to a PCT of 16.67 percent.
Although India clinched the two-match series 1-0 against West Indies with a resounding victory in the first Test, the heavy rain in Port of Spain prevented any play on the fifth and final day of the second Test. India declared their second innings at 181 for 2 on day four, setting a challenging target of 365 runs for the West Indies to win and level the series.
With two away tours to South Africa and Australia, the current WTC champions, along with a home series against England, India faces an intense schedule ahead.
Unfortunately, the persistent torrential rain on the fourth and fifth days of the second Test resulted in its cancellation, leaving West Indies at 76 for two in their second innings when play was called off on the final day. Jermaine Blackwood (20) and Tagenarine Chanderpaul (24) were at the crease when Day 4 ended.
